Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
Use the same basic type as you use for the capacitors C4,5,6. It is not a big issue in any case, but the more compact ones are also more robust, the disc type chips rather easily. On the down side the compact (multilayer) capacitors have a higher inductance than the disc capacitors, but that is def...

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
Looking good. You should replace the disc capacitors near the A/D with the small compact form though, the disc capacitors do have a microphon effect, converting sound and vibration into voltage. That effect is much smaller with the compact capacitors. I know this may be a trivial question, but can ...

PS3 compatibility
I know you're wondering how one man can ask so many questions :) Do the Joy Warriors work with the PS3? If not, do any of your devices offer PS3 compatibility? If not, are there plans? d PS - my circuit board for the JoyWarrior24A10L tests clean and gives no variations in the three 10 bit connection...

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
Use some tool that displays the data from the joystick and have a look at how much it jitters when you don't move the axes. Try that at various positions of the pots. If the layout is optimal and the lines to the pot do not collect much noise you should see the value jumping just between two values...

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
Forgive my ignorance, but how do I check this?Guido Körber wrote:Nice.
Did you check how much jitter you get? On a good design there should be only +/-1 digit.

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit - it worked!
Hi Guido - here's a poor photo of the module I had designed. I just tested it and it works :) http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae109/derekashley1967/Webserve/HPIM0880.jpg It's a new thing for me, so I'm pretty proud of myself that I did it. I've since had circuit boards designed for the 32 as well...

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
No, the fourth channel can not be used since the data format for low speed USB does not allow that, there is a maximum of 8 bytes that limits the number of channels. The placement of the parts does not look good. Schematics is just one thing, the PCB traces also have to be run in a proper way to ge...

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
A module for the JW24A10L/8L is one of the ideas we have been kicking around for some time now, though always something else has higher priority. We do have a sample board for the MW24H8, which is very similar, but that has also never been finished for a release. Maybe the module will be one of our...

Re: JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
Hi Guido, It's this one here: http://www.codemercs.com/uploads/tx_sbdownloader/JoyWarrior24Datasheet_01.pdf But since I posted my question, I revisited all the information that you offer. It seems I misled myself. Your site distinguishes between the individual integrated circuit availability and the...

JoyWarrior24A10L as a complete circuit
Hello, I've been using many of your JoyWarrior24A8-8 and -16's to much success, and I can report that they are very easy to use. I like the fact that it's complete and I can just install the circuit and wire it up. I would like to see this type of circuit for the JoyWarrior24A10L. I checked Saelig's...

Re: JW24MOD-A8-16 - SOLD OUT :(
Here's an update - I just spoke with Saelig and they tell me that my circuits are inbound from Code Mercs today. Thank you Guido and Code Mercenaries for getting these out so quickly. No one likes delays and I sincerely appreciate the speed in which things have moved. I can also say that the service...

Re: 2 pushbuttons on JW24MOD-A8-16
Yes, you can leave out the diodes if you don't have combinations of three or more keys pressed simultaneously. And even then it is only a problem if the three keys form three corners of a rectangle in the matrix, in that case the third corner will appear to be pressed too. This is GREAT news! Altho...

Re: 2 pushbuttons on JW24MOD-A8-16
Never mind about the diodes. If there are less than 3 buttons there is no chance to get a phantom key, and even then it happens only if you have a certain configuration of buttons. So then do I need to use the diodes if there is no risk of simultaneous key presses? I am currently using diodes, but ...

Re: JW24MOD-A8-16 - SOLD OUT :(
Saelig is our sole distributor for North America. I assume we will restock them in the next few days, parts are in stock here, so that will be no problem. Hi Guido - I know you guys are on the job :) They tell me they're sending the PO to you today. My concern is contingency suppliers in the future...
