I/Owarrior 40 state during boot up

Post by GGAVREL »

Since the original state of the I/O warrior is high we have used this High to disable the rest of the circuit such that when we want to use the I/O we first clear all outputs which in term enables all the drivers. This has worked very well until we had to reboot the computer. During the reboot of the computer there is a time when the outputs of the I/O are low for a few seconds which in our case will enable the drivers and create chaos.

Could the I/O warrior be powered by the external 5 v so that it would be always be on and would not respond to the Boot up or ,without getting too complicated ( board presently designed and hope to resolve this with simple ECO ) ,is there any tricks to avoid this situation .

Is the IOW40 actually losing the power supply during reboot?

If you are using port 0 for your drivers it is possible that you see the port going high impedance for a short moment. This is done to check the power setting resistor.

So possibly adding a few pull-up resistors can solve the problem.
