Bus power for DALI

Did you ever ask yourself why DALI power supplies are as prohibitively expensive as they are?

We at least did. And we found no technical reason. Basically a DALI power supply is noting but a fixed voltage power supply with a current limited output. Not much special o about that.

So we did build a simple module with a current limiting regulator that outputs ca. 16 V at max. 230 mA. And we are offering it as LED-Warrior11 for just E10 in single quantities. Now all you need is an inexpensive 24 V power supply plus one LED-Warrior11 and you have a complete DALI bus power supply at much less than the common models on the market.

Hello,

Why the power supply is quite often separated from the dali master? Is that part of the specification?

Is there any schematic available or this is only for sale?

Thanks

A DALI bus must have exactly one power supply but can have multiple masters. So it makes limited sense to combine the master and the power supply.
