All,
I must admit an starter at IO programming; only done this ages ago via serial. However what I would like to achieve seems simple but I can't find the hardware for it. But let me first give an idea of what I would like to achieve.
Currently I have a Mac running a program called SecuritySpy which monitors in and around the building. It can do motion detection based on changes in the video; however with changing light conditions it's triggering way to often.
The primary purpose of this setup is to record video when somebody enters or leaves a certain door. I could mount regular alarm switches, those magnetic ones, either make or break a circuit would be doable. I need to connect this to the Mac to trigger an AppleScript which tells Security Spy that motion is detected.
Can IOWarrior or any of the other projects do this, and would somebody be willing to give some guidance on how to achieve this?
Thanks,
Stijn

An AppleScript gateway is part of the SDK.
