I checked all connections for short circuits using the resistance meter, but I can not find any shorts.

(however, I am a newby so maybe i have done something wrong)

What remains to try?

Thanks,

Wouter

ok,

what to do now, what should I also measure to get the full story?

what should the oscillator indicate? Does this mean there is something wrong with the chip (that i cannot fix) or could it be in the 'wiring' somewere (that i can fix)?

thanks,

Wouter

next step

Hi,

Sorry for the slow response. I needed to get a multimeter. I am a newby so sorry for any stupid questions or remarks.

I checked the voltage both on the USB port (on the plug) and on the chip. Both indicated a 4, 38 volt. This seems ok to me, is it?

If the voltage is both at the beginning of ...

IO warrior is not recognized

Hi,

I just finished my new IO warrior 40. If I plug it, it does not show up under the usb list (in about this mac-> more info). If I play a demo it says that no IO warrior available.

If I use the USB prober I get the following errors after plugging the IO warrior:

Ok, thanks, so for me, not being too handy the JW24A8-x module would be the best solution.

Still something not clear,...is the JW24A8-x a complete module with a chip, or do I need to get a separate joywarrior chip ? e.g. is the JW24A8-x plug and play (with switches on the one end, and usb on the ...

Thanks,

Sorry, another question. If i need just 3 switches, maybe even easier is the keywarrior, as this device will generate 'keysignals'. Thus I don't need to build an Xtra for acces in macromedia director, as director itself recognizes 'keyinput'. Nor use a joystick Xtra.

Or am I mistaking ...

Thanks, I indeed only need the joYwarrior then.

Could you advise me which type I would need? What i intend to do is have tree simple switches (on/off) that need to be read by my application. For me the most easiest solution would be nice in terms of soldering and programming, etc.

Thanks for the ...

3 simple switches

Hi,

(beginners question). How difficult is it to have tree simple low voltage switches attached to IO warrior, to connect this to software that just sees if a switch is on or off?

Can I just have the swithces connected to the plate and 'plug and play'? Is there some manual with a similair thing ...

IO-warrior and macromedia director

Hi,

I am new to this stuff and not a great electrotechnic either...

however, does anyone have any experience with connecting io warrior to director? Do I need an Xtra, does it exist or do I have to write it myself?

Thanks,

W.
