Ok Guido, problem fixed, led matrix is running smooth and fine!
Thanks for your help!
By the way, just confirm something:
If i want to give more power to the matrix, outside USB, i must put more DC voltage on this pin 13? Is it correct?
Thanks, bye

Re: Led Matrix question
I dont have this pin number 13 wired!
I read on AN1 sheet that in small assemblies with moderate brigthness for the LED´s it is possible to supply from USB.
If i want to drive 5891 from USB i must put Vcc line from IOW40 on pin 13?
Bye,
MS

Re: Led Matrix question
I´m sending 5V directly from the IOW40 Vcc line to MIC5891 pin number 15 (Vdd, logic supply), like AN1 sheet picture suggests. I´ve measured between groud and pin 15 and have 5V even without any instructions to be sent to IOW40 to activate led matrix. Pins 2, 3, 4, 16, 15 and 14 from MIC5891 have 5V...

Re: Led Matrix question
Ok Guido, thats right, thanks for your answer, but i still cant light up any led! I´ve tried with very types of leds and no one have just a litlle light!! I dont know what is going wrong. Is it necessary to have all the 8 resistors connected to the 8 ports of 5821 the circuit work properly? I just h...

Re: Led Matrix question
I´ve measured between MIC5821 output pins and ground.
I´m using All-in-one test program to send this instructions:
I´ve tested just some led´s activated too.
I´m using 100 ohm resistence at 5821 output.
Thx in advance,
MS

Led Matrix question
Hi good-afternoon, I´ve finished to build my first protoype board using IOW40 and 2 drivers MIC5891 and MIC5821. When i connect the board into USB port of my PC it is imediately recognised and, for example, the switch matrix works quite well. On the Led Matrx side seems to exist some problem, howeve...

Re: Windows aplication with Visual C++ 2008!
Thanks Elektron!! In the past few months i didn´t "touch" anything about programming my own application to interact with iow40. I think its too difficult to me because i dont have enough skills of programming to do that job. But i will try again later!! I think it shouldn´t be very difficu...

Re: LED Matrix!!
HI, good night,
Ok, let me see if i understand:
With the driving circuit presented on AN1 sheet i cant use common cathode led displays. Is that correct.
If so the displays presented on the circuit are common anode, right?
Thanks in advance

LED Matrix!!
Hello good-afternoon,
I know that common anode Led Displays are most suitable for use with the led matrix on IOW40, but can i use common cathode led displays? There is any problem on doing this?
Thanks

Re: KW16 not recognized on USB!
Thanks Guido, the problem is apparently solved. I´ve attached an hi-speed USB hub to the USB port of my old Pentium3. It seems windows have recognized KW16 because appears an HID Keyboard on the Keyboards tab of device manager. It´s tricky but it works!!

KW16 not recognized on USB!
Hi Guido, I´m using KW16 on USB with an old Pentium3 with WinXP SP2 installed. I´m having problems to connect the chip because windows give me the message "unknown device". These doesn´t occur on my other 3 PC´s, where i can get the correct HID recognizing under windows XP. I have checked ...

Ok Guido problem fixed finnaly :)
Thanks for your precious support! It was the pull-up resistor, now its all working fine and i have programed yet some keys.
Best Regards

Re: Keywarrior chip on starter-kit
Hello,
But we must put a pull-up resistor of 10K on these line? Or this resistor is installed on the starter-kit already?
Thanks

Re: Keywarrior chip on starter-kit
Still dont work! I´ve added the resistors: 9,8K is what i have in SCL line, between pin 6 from EEPROM and Y15 of KW16. I checked with a multimeter some tension values on EEPROM pins when the starter kit connected to USB. Pins number 8 and 5 are with 5 volts. All the others 0 volts. KW windows tool g...

Re: Keywarrior chip on starter-kit
Ok, it seems i´ve do that alright. Those pins (adress pins are already pulled down).
I´m using a condensator of 100nF between pin number 4 and Vcc. This is correct?
Thanks
MS
