I want to setup a small LCD for use with Mac OS X using the IO-Warrior controller. I noted this project:
http://monitzer.com/iowarrior/
He uses an IO-Warrior 40. Could I use a 24 for this, with the LCD interface already on the board?
Will IO-Warrior drive Crystalfontz LCDs, such as these 20x4 units, in particular.
How about this 40x4?
If not, how would an LCD that IS compatible with the IO-Warrior be described? Thanks.
blakespot
Which LCDs work w/ IO-Warrior 40/24?

Yes, you can use an IOW 24 for that purpose. Including the interface on the board as described in the IOW datasheet..
If you want to use a 40x4 Display (and the IOW's LCD Special mode function) you need additional Hardware (I use one 74HCT02) and one I/O-Pin because the display has two HD44780 controller (and E1 and E2 instead of E). Then, the interface on the IOW 24 board does not fit anymore.
