Button Matrix. Multiple button presses

Is it possible for the JoyWarrior20 A8-16 to register 2 button presses simultainiously.

For example in a situation where 6 buttons were used for a gear shifter with one button always being pressed, would it be possible to use the other buttons?

Any combination of buttons will work if you have diodes in the matrix.
