Question about the max1249

Post by pk_volt »

hhmm, so I'm having a little trouble understanding how this circuit works.

from what I see on the a10-8 joyworrior, there is a 10ohm resistor and a 10.1 uFarad capacitor, which I assume is a lowpass filter?

I also see the same setup connected to the REFADJ.

Now according to the datasheets, the max1249 needs an external reference for the a/d. I can see that the input buffer is bypassed by pulling Vref to Vdd.

I built up the circuit for just the max1249 on a breadboard, and found out that the vdd, and the Vref nodes are 5 volts except I replaced the capts with 100uF as I didn't have any 10uF handy at the moment.

Are these the voltages they're suppose to be?

if so, can you explain why, and why the capacitors are there as well as how this affects the internal buffer etc etc?

thanks!
