Implementation!

OK Guido,
Getting ready to begin, I have one last question. I have the JW24MODS A-8 and A-16. The circuit board layout is identical, twins even, same markings and identifyers exactly. The A-16 has a tag on the chip, the A-8 has a tag on the chip. Is this correct? The wiring difference in the A-16 button matrix? Just a little anal retentive I know, but I am a newby to this.

Yes, the difference is how you connect the buttons. Of course the chips have different firmware in them.
