Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
Hello,
I am a student, currently on stage in a company.
My task to calibrate an accelerometer JW24F8 using Linux only by pressing "Space".
Having obviously already looked at the software that you offer on your site, but it is incompatible with Linux I am stuck. I try to change the Sample "Joytest" that works very well.
Can you help me please.
Thank you in advance.

What is your question?
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
My question is: how can I calibrate my accelerometer under linux?

You can't unless you write your own software. We don't yet have the software for Linux.
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
I'm a beginner in linux, it's the first time for me. But I will try.
Thank you

Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
In that case this is not a good idea, you can permanently decalibrate the sensor if you write the wrong data.
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
I know but I don't have any choice.
I have to calibrate the accelerator when I press space key on the keyboard.

Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
There is somebody who have an idea, or better a syntax??
Resume: when I press Space key on the keyboard, all details of 3 axes take a new position 0
For example:
We mount the accelerometer on a table and pressing the space bar, the coordinates must be zero:
x = 0, y = 0, z = 0.

Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
Do you want to zero the data for a temporary situation, or do you want to permanently calibrate the sensor for that position?
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
quoting G.Körber : if you only need a temporary 0,0,0 why not just resetting three variables to the current axis values and then use the differential as input for the rest of your script ?Guido Körber wrote:Do you want to zero the data for a temporary situation, or do you want to permanently calibrate the sensor for that position?
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
It's good I managed to calibrate by moving the z axis, now I have to represent these 3 axis on a graph, do you have an idea?
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
Hie,
Do yo know the value of the offset voltage for the JW24F8??

Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
and the voltage output from the X-axis? How can I have this value? Help me please...

Offset voltage???
Re: Calibrate JW24F8 on Linux
I found this file:
http://www.freescale.com/files/sensors/ ... AN3461.pdf
and I wanted to use the formula to find Ax.
